The problem

PPG wanted a measure that engaged operators to drive productivity in real time. They also needed a diagnostic tool that would highlight non-value activity to give more of a focus for CI projects.

The solution

Gemba’s software was implemented at PPG’s Birstall Site, and due to the team’s proactive approach, the company began to reap the benefits of the system straight away.

The results

PPG now target repeat issues as part of their continuous improvement program. They have saved more than £30,000 a year in labour costs due to Gemba’s software highlighting problems and are able to find and fix issues easily.
