Enabling efficiency improvements through real-time data
The problem
Staff at Glenfiddich Distillery, owned by William Grant & Sons, were stuck maintaining a tiresome approach manually logging data on paper before entering it onto a spreadsheet the following morning. By the time it was analysed, the data was already at least 24 hours out of date.
The solution
Gemba’s software was implemented in the cask filling and digorging area in the Glenfiddich Distillery to highlight inefficiencies. Bottlenecks were able to be identified and supervisors were able to focus more experienced staff in that area.
